BrassRing Presents "Understanding the OFCCP'S New Internet Applicant Rule" Webinar
Featuring Matt Halpern, Esq., Nationally-Recognized Federal Affirmative-Action Policy Expert
WALTHAM, MA - December 19, 2005 - BrassRing, a leading provider of talent management solutions, today sponsored a Webinar for organizations effected by the recent, and final, Department of Labor Employment Standards Administration's Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs’ (OFCCP) ruling on the definition of an “Internet Applicant.”
Although the ruling, which takes effect February 6, 2006, resolves many longstanding issues, it also creates new issues and compliance burdens. To provide clarity on this complex topic Brassring presented the one-hour, complimentary Webinar, featuring Matt Halpern, a Senior Partner at the Jackson Lewis law firm and head of the firm’s affirmative action practice group, to HR representatives of approximately 500 organizations from throughout the United States.
The Webcast covered:
- The new “internal applicant” definition and how it differs from the “old”
- The new definition standards and what they mean; including “Basic Qualifications”
- Using internal and external “Applicant” databases
- Employer record keeping obligations
- The dichotomy between paper and electronic applications
- How the OFCCP can “test” an organization’s definition against labor force statistics
- Practical advantages and limitations of the new rule
